Reference Services
Each of our clients has a different approach to reference checking. Some prefer to conduct the procedure in-house while others prefer Bid Solutions to undertake the activity. Whatever your approach, comprehensive reference checking will no doubt be near the top of your recruitment priorities. Reference checking is a very sensitive, confidential, and in many cases a regulatory process.
Whilst Bid Solutions offers various less comprehensive levels of checking, we recommend a comprehensive, Security Benchmarked checking for all candidates. However, as highlighted below by the list of verification details the candidates are required to produce, some employers find this unnecessary. The standard vetting service we offer to British Standard 7858:2006 includes:
· Current address verification (5 year history)
· Criminal Record Bureau check
· Credit Check - County Court Judgement, Insolvency, Bankruptcy
· Professional Qualification Verification
· Written 10 year previous employment verification
· 2 written personal references
Screening to British Standard 7858:2006 is usually required for accreditation purposes so many organisations that do not require this higher level of security vetting choose scaled down versions, specifically tailored to meet their own organisational needs.
Alternatively, employers may wish to enhance the security checks beyond that required by BS7858:2006, such as Company Directorship checks, DVLC checks or even verifying higher academic qualifications shown in CVs.
