I need a Bid Manager

Bid Manager Definition

The Bid Manager will take full ownership of the end-to-end bid campaign. Responsibilities include introduction and enforcement of all necessary bid procedures and processes. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines. It may require strong people management skills in a dynamic sales environment.

Experience

Proven capability of delivering successful multi-million pound services opportunities, on time. Typically has a background in solutions and services. The Bid Manager will have experience of campaign management from opportunity identification through to delivery and will provide input into win strategies, solution delivery and approach to constructing a compelling business proposition.

Qualifications

Ideally Degree / MBA educated. APMP Practitioner or Professional level.

Skills / Competences

Must be comfortable working at CEO / Director Level (internal and external customer).
Fully conversant with the competitive marketplace.
Sound commercial understanding, P&L, and risk management skills.
Has the ability to manage complex, multi discipline opportunities.
Solid understanding of governance procedures.

The Bid Manager has the following behavioural characteristics: An ability to assume a role of a generalist nature, with strong leadership or competitive selling responsibilities, along with a need for autonomy and authority; an orientation towards achieving results and sense of urgency to set and realise goals; an aptitude for keeping a wide variety of tasks on stream; a preference for initiating and setting own direction; and a predisposition towards persuasiveness, able to sell his/her own ideas to others in a diplomatic manner.
